At first glance, Matt seems like the everyday typical white guy. That's because he is. A substitute teacher, camp counselor, and webcomic artist, he's the epitome of "nerd." His favorite activities involve getting into adventure, but he's terrible at finding it.

Chris is an "ethnic" character, created solely to harness that crucial "what the hell is my ethnicity?" demographic. He works at a big home-building center and wants nothing more than a peaceful life of home-livin' and country-fried foods. Unfortunately, his best friend (Matt) makes this impossible.

Amanda is the only sane person in a sea of crazy assholes. She is down to earth and full of common sense. She's very angry the world is not that way. For some inexplicable reason, she stays by Chris no matter the circumstance, including the time she walked in on him, Matt, and their friend Jeremy, naked and covered in Jell-O. She's found a good guy and isn't going to let trifles ruin it.
